| Soil | A well drained potting mix such as one suitable for cacti. 2 parts potting soil to one part sand. |
| Water | Drought tolerant. Low water requirements. Allow soil to dry between waterings. Desert regions. Allow the top of the soil to dry between waterings during active growth. During winter allow it to dry almost completely and water just enough to keep the leaves from shriveling. Keep it on the dry side during the winter months. |
