Description:

Size/Shape Grows to 1-2’ in container. Shrub. 5 to 12 feet tall. The regular species can also be trained as a small tree. Multi-trunked shrub/small tree. Grows slow.
Leaves Compound.
Flowers Waxy white flowers. Dark red to orange, oblong berries, up to 0.5 inch long (12 mm).
Blooming Season Always in bloom or budded. Everbloomer. The flowers come in flushes at different times during the spring, summer, and fall. May occur throughout the year.
Fragrance Sweetly fragrant. Emits an intense orange blossom fragrance. Very fragrant. Enticing fragrance. Richly perfumed. There is also a citrusy aroma when the leaves are crushed.


Growing Info:

Propagation Seeds. Cuttings in summer under mist. Semi-hardwood cuttings. Fresh seed. Plant as soon as received. Plant 1/2" deep - do not keep wet, only lightly moist.
Soil Neutral. Humus rich, well drained soil.
Water Regular water. Should be moist. Moist. Water plentifully when in full growth but otherwise only when dry.
Food Feed in spring. Every 20-30 days from early spring-midautumn, breaking for a month in midsummer. Feed monthly.
Pruning The regular species can also be trained as a small tree. Prune in winter. Can be pruned harshly. Grow in a variety of styles. New growth needs to be pruned back to a few leaves after the shoots have made six or seven leaves.
Light Full sun. Light shade. Sun to part shade. Prefers part shade to full sun.
Climate Minimum temperature 45°. Zone 9 and higher.
