Brunfelsia_nitida	Emits a spicy fragrance in the evening. Very fragrant in the late afternoon and evening. The amazing feature and the reason for its name is that after sundown Lady of the Night flowers become fragrant. Within 10 seconds after sundown, the aroma appears from zero to full power. There is absolutely no smell nor hint of aroma in daylight hours. The aroma goes all night long then stops exactly at sunrise. To say "fragrant" is inadequate because the air becomes full of a sweet smell somewhat like a jasmine but punctuated with strong undertones of cloves, oriental 5-spice powder and cinnamon. It is a complex smell and very satisfying. People offered a whiff want to smell it again and again. Conversation immediately turns to discussing this unique aroma. The more humid the weather, the further it can be smelled, which can easily be 100 feet away.

It is true that the fragrance is stronger in the evening but you can still smell a light scent all day long. On warm evenings their sweet, hypnotic scent, designed to attract pollinating moths, can be perceived up from great distance. ---Ugh! The above descriptions found on the internet, disagree with how some people feel about the smell. Some consider the fragrance to be similar to urinal cakes or chemical cleansers. I am finding that I am on the side of disliking it. I'll keep the info page up though, for those who do like the smell.

Dracaena_fragrans	Fragrance can travel 180 feet. Evening fragrance. In the evening the plant gives off a sweet fragrance that is noticeable for hundreds of feet. The fragrance is very strong. Awesome fragrance. The fragrance is so overpowering it really needs to be outside. At night, a strong sweet happy smell came into the living room from the plant's room very suddenly, landing strong. It was much like hyacinth mixed with honeysuckle.

It's fragrance is absolutely amazing. There's almost no smell during the day, but at night a single cluster of the flowers is so strong, that it even spills out to other rooms. It's scent is very unique; very sweet but earthy and damp. Of all the Hoyas that I've smelled, this is my favourite.

A single flower put in a bowl of water will scent a room. The leaves are very fragrant when crushed, reminiscent of lemon verbena. When the twigs and leaves are crushed only a faint fragrance is released.

Ocimum	Strongest scent and flavour of all the Thai basils.
Osmanthus_fragrans	An orange blossom fragrance. So strongly and deliciously fragrant are the flowers, that even just one of them will perfume an entire conservatory. Apricot-scented. The fragrance is powerful and exquisite. Deliciously fragrant flowers. Leaves are aromatic too. Flowers have a fruity-floral apricot aroma. Aroma materials produced by carotenoid degradation. Extremely fragrant. They perfume a large area of the landscape. Deliciously fragrant flowers which carry the scent of ripe peaches or apricots. Apricot/rose scent. Extremely sweet smelling flowers.
Pandanus_odoratissimus	Fragrant leaves. Very fragrant flowers. Kewra flowers have a sweet, perfumed odour with a pleasant quality similar to rose flowers, but kewra is more fruity. The scent of pandanus leaves develops only on withering; the fresh, intact plants hardly have any odour. Leaves are used in cooking. A very strong, beautiful scent. You could smell this nice and beautiful perfume from far away. Male flowers are made into kewra water. The leaves for cooking give a wonderful aroma to rice etc. Shred the leaves and leave them in saucers around the house to make it smell nice. Most delightful, richest, and powerful of perfumes even when dried. The leaves’s aroma is distinct and hard to describe, somewhat nutty, reminiscent to fresh hay and definitely pleasant. A similar scent is found in some aromatic rice varieties grown in South East Asia.

Reseda_odorata	Legendary sweet ambrosial scent. Sweet fragrance. An intense spicy fragrance. A wonderful spicy sweet fragrance. Foliage is aromatic. The luxury of the pleasure-garden is greatly heightened by the delightful odor which this plant diffuses. Its perfume is not apt to offend on continuance the most delicate olfactories. Generally, the smaller flowered sorts are more fragrant than the giant forms.
