Names:
Family Rubiaceae.
Genus & Species Cubanola domingensis
AKA Portlandia domingensis.
Common Names Cubanola. Tree lily.

Description:

Size/Shape Shrub. A couple of feet or so tall. A slow growing small tree. Very slow growing. Adds up 4-5" per year. Initially the shrub grows on a tall single stem so it has the look of a standard or lollipop. Gradually, with age, it fills out and becomes more shrub-like.
Leaves Attractive, shiny foliage. Leaves are silvery-green and shiny.
Flowers It surreptitiously produced some tiny flower buds: these then just grew and grew before opening into enormous and rather gorgeous, pendulous, trumpet-shaped, pale lime green blooms, each 8 inches or so long - far too big for the plant.
Blooming Season After a year or two. Blooms repeatedly.
Fragrance Beautifully perfumed. Fragrance is somewhat like warm chocolate.

Growing Info:

Soil Soil must be loose and well-drained. Does well in alkaline soils. Neutral to mildly alkaline.
Water Make sure to water regularly but do not overwater.
Light The plant prefers filtered light, but can be grown in full sun, too - this way it will flower more profusely but leaves will be smaller. Sun to full shade.
Climate Tropical.
