Description:

Size/Shape 2 to 3 ft. Up to 5 ft.
Leaves Magnificent foliage, consisting of handsome, stout-stalked, wavy-edged, stiff-fleshy, shiny, light green, arrow-shaped leaves up to 3 ft. in length.
Flowers Six inches long, greenish-yellow in colour. They have a wicked scheme to ensure cross-pollination – insects are trapped overnight at the base of the bloom in what can only be called a night-club atmosphere before being released early the following morning to find another club, and snacking on pollen on the way. Pollinated by flies.
Blooming Season March.
Fragrance A scent reminiscent of violets. Flowers are fragrant. "It smelt like nothing else I know." Emits a strong peculiar scent. Night scented.


Growing Info:

Propagation Seeds. Rhizome division. Wear gloves for division - the sap can be a skin irritant. Pot size 8-14". The offset can be planted at any depth as it will root from any portion of the stem.
Soil Bark, coarse perlite and peat moss. Well drained.
Water Moist. Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings. Very high moisture needs; suitable for bogs and water gardens.
Food A balanced liquid food in the summer.
Light Sun to partial shade. Partial to full shade. Keep them out of direct sun.
Climate Tropical Asia. Zones 7b-11.
